The Swift Current Old Time Fiddlers provided Southwest Saskatchewan with music, dancing and charitable contributions throughout their lifetime as an organization.

From their beginnings as a group of like-minded lovers of Old Time Fiddling concerned with entertaining the crowds at the Civic Centre’s Thursday night dances, they quickly grew into a well-known band across the Prairies. Leaving behind a legacy of 12 full-length albums, 3 square dance videos and over $128,000 donated to the community, the group’s disbanding has left behind a hole that may never be filled in the region.

In this installment of the Stories from the Great Southwest, we chronicle the history and the lasting legacy of the Swift Current Old Time Fiddlers as they brought their classic brand of fiddle music to Southwest Saskatchewan and beyond.
